Julie and my Difficulties
My friend Julie loves to take pictures. My favorite kind of people are the people that run up to you and volunteer to do a photo shoot for no pay. This is what Julie did. After my gymnastics practice, I asked who wanted to take pictures for my project. She was very enthusiastic and I appreciated it since it was so last minute. I decided to take some of my photos at the gym because I had a lot of my friends there and it was already a perfect environment to take pictures anyway. In addition, we all don’t look very presentable after practice and I thought it would bring a different version of beauty to the picture. One challenge I found getting these pictures together were the fact that I had to get five of each person and these pictures had to be different. It was difficult to think of different ideas to incorporate to each picture. This was because they all had to be portraits. You couldn’t be creative from the lower body so you had to think of different facial expressions to portray. I came up with some different ideas but I had to pass on them because they weren’t portrait picture ideas. Lastly, I still had to keep in mind the rules about noise in the background. I somehow had to have a selective focus that my audience would focus on. I had to be sure the background didn’t come into conflict with my selective focus as well.
